By establishing a strategic base in Miami, Florida the initiative aims to engage with key stakeholders, including policymakers, educators, technology leaders and individuals to drive impactful solutions against digital misinformation.

We need a multi-faceted approach to counter disinformation—one that addresses the root causes, not just the symptoms,” said Andrew Vasko, CEO of Operation Pluto. “Trying to stop the flow of disinformation entirely is unrealistic; shutting down one source will only lead to another emerging. The real battleground is people—disinformation succeeds only when it manipulates individuals to serve a specific agenda, whether influencing elections, fuelling division, or driving economic consequences. Instead of focusing solely on fact-checking, we must first evaluate the intent behind the message. Understanding what disinformation seeks to achieve empowers individuals to resist becoming unwitting participants in efforts to divide society.”

With our new office in Miami, we are significantly expanding our capacity to address this pressing issue. This strategic expansion allows us to deepen our research efforts, leveraging data-driven insights to understand the evolving landscape of disinformation. By studying its sources, impact, and mechanisms of spread, we can design more effective countermeasures that strengthen information integrity. Our presence in Miami enhances our ability to collaborate with global partners, including policymakers, academic institutions, media organizations, and technology companies. These partnerships are essential for developing coordinated responses that promote transparency, digital literacy, and responsible communication.

At the core of our mission is the empowerment of individuals. Through targeted education initiatives, media literacy programs, and community engagement efforts, we aim to equip people with the critical thinking skills needed to analyze and interpret the information they encounter daily. By fostering a more informed and discerning society, we can collectively reduce the influence of harmful misinformation and strengthen democratic resilience.
